Jesús Barrena González

Jesús Barrena González currently holds a predoctoral fellowship from the Regional Government of Extremadura (2019-2023) to carry out his thesis in the Department of Art and Territory Sciences at the University of Extremadura. He holds a degree in geography and a master’s degree in Geographic Information Technologies: GIS and Remote Sensing. He is a member of the GeoEnvironmental Research Group (GIGA, UEX) and the Soil Erosion and Desertification Research Group (SEDER, UV). Since 2018, he has authored or co-authored over 20 scientific publications, including articles and book chapters, and has participated in regional and international research projects. He has presented oral communications and posters in many conferences. His main research line focuses on the accurate mapping of a wide range of soil properties at different scales, particularly in grazing areas. In addition, he collaborates with other researchers in studies on soil erosion in agricultural environments or the analysis of water quality on livestock farms.
